It is interesting that Pamela Geller, founder of the hate group Stop the Islamization of America (SIOA), is now using the same medium that WhyIslam used to give free information about Islam. The only difference between the two sources is that one is giving away real information and the other is trying to spread fear, hate and animosity.
Anti-Islam Bus ads can now be seen on most Sam Trans buses, I had my first look at it in San Francisco yesterday. Here is short video posted by CAIR from CBS 5 news which includes short interview snippets of Pamela Gellar, Zahra Billoo and Sam Trans representative.
First, I think that CAIR should completely ignore the whole thing, giving it attention is legitimizing it in some way. Gellar is a loony, her comments are hateful and she is one of those people who stir up excitement around issues that are sensitive mostly for personal gains.
Second, freedom of speech means that she can say whatever she wants to and I believe she has every right to say what she is saying. Hateful speech is still freedom of speech, if you don’t like it then ignore it but don’t shun the person’s right to first amendment.
