The Real Slumdog Millionaire

It is a co-incident that I’m posting about Slumdog Millionaire back to back but this post is way better than my last post, it’s about the Real Slumdog Millionaire.

In the movie, you remember that jamal worked as a tour guide outside Taj Mahal and it was also implied that he learned english and other languages there. That part of the movie resonates in India today and you will be amazed once you watch the video.

The kid in this video can speak english plus many other languages that make him a better salesman. This video was a big hit a few years ago and they just found this kid again in his teenage year and he is still doing the same thing.

The first time the kid was on camera

Second time the same kid on camera, three years later!

Amazing. Its sad to see that such talent goes to waste due to poverty and so many people never live to fulfill their true potential

It would be nice if the movie would open society’s eyes regarding what is happening to this young boy and the many others like him, but we know that this will not be the case. It will be a temporary fad because of hollywood and the oscars, and then these poor boys will be forgotten.

Having been through the slums of Mumbai I too have found some wonderful people who are talented beyond their means.
I felt that it was important to make sure they have plenty of opportunity to maintain their respect and I can do like wise.
Good luck to him I say.
