I am glad that after 21 months of continuous circus on the trees of U.C. Berkeley campus, it is finally over. If you are wondering why these protestors or tree-sitters were sitting on the tree then get ready for a laugh. The whole tree-sitter protest was aimed at stopping construction of a new sports center. Tree-sitters wasted 21 months sitting on trees that were eventually cleared today with court order. This is the point where you bang your head on the wall!
Now let’s come back… world hunger is over, there is no poverty, no wars… the only issue now in this world worth sitting on trees for 21 months is the fact that a University wants to build a sports center on its property and it has to be stopped from doing that.
Okay, I am serious now! I am interested in finding out how much tax payers dollars the city of Berkeley paid in order to go through this circus for 21 months? This morning when I passed through that area to drop my wife at the Haas School of Business, there were a lot of cops there, maybe the entire UC P.D was there, trying to keep protestors away from the crew involved with clearing the trees.
Something like this can only go on for 21 months in Berkeley…
