Two Thumbs Down for Six Flags

Yesterday, August 9th 2008, I visited Six Flags in Vallejo as part of the volunteer team for Muslim Unity Day event which is held every year. Muslim Unity Foundation (organizers of Muslim Unity Day) aim to provide Muslims one day where they can visit a location where they could meet other Muslims as well as enjoy rides and events catered specially towards them. On top of that, Halaal food is served during the day time and lot of Muslim vendors participate and showcase their products and services which usually helps pay for the whole event.

This year was my second year attending MUD, last year the hot spot was Great America in Santa Clara. After attending the event last year, I and my wife decided that we would volunteer next year and so we did. One reason behind volunteering for MUD was to be part of a group that works extremely hard to create a wonderful experience for everyone once a year, every year. Yesterday, I saw this with my naked eyes and was able to appreciate even more what they were doing as each of them worked extremely hard to make this event a wonderful experience.

I wish I could say the same thing about the people at Six Flags in Vallejo as from what I saw; they tried their best to make things difficult for the MUD organizers and were not good at keeping their word concerning ticket sales. There were problems from the start and MUD organizers were forced into dealing with something they shouldn’t have been asked to because MUD technically is a customer for Six Flags and should be treated like the way customers are treated, especially if the customer is helping your ticket sales and bringing more people from south bay and areas where people think twice before going as far as Vallejo.

The best way to avenge the in competencies of Six Flags is to never ever have MUD event at Six Flags again. For people associated with Six Flags, you should be sorry because you just lost a lifetime customer to Great America.
