It’s All About JUNO

Lately the movie JUNO has been receiving quite a bit of air time almost everywhere you look. I watched this movie few days ago and thought that no one would even remember its name after it is out of the theaters but I guess I totally missed it.

The movie has now been nominated for Oscars and what not and I, for some reason, can’t understand what exactly was so good about the movie? A teenage girl, 16, gets pregnant, decides to abort, then keeps it and gives it out for adoption and moves on with her life.

How emotionally distant a 16 year old girl can be that she didn’t want to see the baby’s face after the delivery? There is a total disregard for human life who maybe deserves a glance. The movie underestimates the intelligence of young people, teenage girls in general. The movie portrays sex and relationships in a very superficial and shallow way with 2 dimensional characters that don’t represent what teenage girls really go through while pregnant.

If you leave your intellect in your fridge and then go watch this movie, you will laugh, enjoy and maybe even find it funny. If you decide to take your intellect with yourself then you would want your money back…
