Six Months In Berkeley

It is been almost six months since I moved to Berkeley from Santa Clara. At first, things seemed really different in Berkeley. Narrow roads, ambulance every 2-3 hours, cops around every street corner, lot of homeless people, damaged roads, and really cold weather.

Well, I didn’t expect any better. I had no choice but to move to Berkeley because of my wife who goes to UC Berkeley. I go to SFSU and we can both go around without any problems and living in Berkeley was the choice we both made.

Interesting thing in Berkeley is that it is divided based on socioeconomic status. Rich white people mostly reside in the hills of Berkeley. Everyone else lives downhill, most of them happen to be students.

Considering the educational level of UC Berkeley, I don’t seem to understand why there is such a divide so close to the campus. I am sure most UC Berkeley graduates leave town soon after they graduate.

Anywayz, just my 2 cents on the city of Berkeley.
