I was honestly surprised to hear this on the radio today but then I pondered for a minute and it all started to make sense. Because of Pakistan’s strategic position in Southeast Asia and the so called “War on Terror”, Pakistan should and must be number one if one looks at the current power struggle.
Every year, time magazine comes out with top 10 lists of the year like people, music, website etc. In its Top Ten News Stories of 2007 List the number one story is the “Transition in Pakistan”.
Musharraf gets the center of attention here as he is seen as someone who currently controlling the entire situation with the help from other foreign powers, I don’t think I need to mention here which foreign power, it’s obvious.
So what do you think? Is Pakistan’s position well deserved? Is it exaggerated? Should Al Gore be the number one? I am really tired of Al Gore now…. every time someone talks about him they use the word “green” in the sentence before and after his name, please…. we know he is green, give us a break…. I will drive a Hybrid one day…. I promise!
Anywayz, sorry for that rant… talking of Al Gore, TIMES magazine is still in the process of discovering its Person of the Year and Al Gore is one of the nominees. Ahmedinejad is also in the list so I guess I will vote for him, you have to be in some high state of mind to sit in front of Columbia University students and say “There are no GAYS in Iran”. Seriously, thumbs up to him…. what was he smoking?!?!
Jokes apart, I still think his speech at Columbia was very bold move on his part and got him a lot of attention…. even though his popularity is like that of Bush in his own country.
