What’s Wrong with Pakistan?

As soon as Benazir stepped on the Pakistani soil, she was greeted by firecrackers that killed 120+ people and achieved misery. I really hate the whole concept of killing to achieve anything but when killing takes place and you don’t achieve anything, what did you exactly achieve then? Misery!

Since the attack on Bhutto, I have heard people talk about why it happened, who was behind it etc. Needless to say, everything I have heard so far is baloney. Few of the comments have been so nonsensical that I felt for a nanosecond that a country whose country men and women think in such a way that it would make a 2 year old look smart, deserves what happened with Bhutto but then again, that’s not my view and that’s not what I want.

Let me tell you what I think happened; tell me if it makes sense. Benazir formed an alliance with Musharraf. Islamic radicals, fanatics, taliban and people in tribal areas hate Musharraf. They have tried to assassinate Musharraf exactly the same way they tried to kill Bhutto. So now we know buy this comparison that in the view of anyone who hates Musharraf, Benazir is also to be hated as she now has a so-called alliance with Musharraf. That’s also called a motive by the way.

Benazir said in her few interviews leading to her arrival to Pakistan that she also believes that Pakistan is being radicalized and the phenomenon of Talibanization is not an illusion anymore, it’s a reality. This gives the people who have a motive, one more reason to take her out.

She is as much of a threat for Mullah’s as she is for Musharraf. But there is a problem, if they both get together, they have a common enemy in the form of radicals currently spreading havoc in Pakistan. That’s not good news for Mullah’s trying to turn Pakistan into Talibanistan.

What’s wrong today with Pakistan is that everyone thinks that their “Aqeedah” or belief is right. There is no room or tolerance; you do as I say or else “BOOM.” That’s the attitude these days exported by madressas and radical mosques. Hate is being indoctrinated in the hearts and minds of innocent kids who would then grow up being all brain washed and mentally destroyed.

The reason people have this Aqeedah problem is because every Muslim out there believes that their version of Islam is perfect. That is the reason there is no tolerance whatsoever. That is the reason diplomacy doesn’t work when it comes to religious conflicts because diplomacy demands compromises and compromise doesn’t exist in the minds of extremists who believe their version of Islam is perfect.
