Cyber Blasphemy Punishable by Death in Pakistan

As absurd it may sound, this is now the law of the land in Pakistan. According to The Peninsula: Qatar’s Daily,

In Pakistan the act of using electronic system or device by words, either spoken or written or by visible representation or by any imputation, innuendo or insinuation, directly or indirectly, defiles the scared name of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), will be punished with death or imprisonment for life and shall be liable to fine.

If you are Pakistani you know very well that 8 out of 10 Pakistanis have the first name Mohammad. Most of them also have nicknames like “Mammoo” “Mamda” “Moemy” etc. So from now on if you are caught messing with your friend’s name, you will be hanged until your tongue sticks out. Howz that for a law?

This really makes me wanna move to Pakistan. First their was a block on the blogs on the Blogger network and now this nonsensical law. What’s next?
